Senior Turk Forward, 6'3" Sam Hatton flies for 2 of his team high 26 points in first half action of the Turks tough loss 73 - 69 to Archbishop Murphy, Tuesday night, January 25, 2011 in Sultan, WA.  The Wildcat roster lists 9 players at 6'2" or better, this height advantage and ball control held the Turks to a 17 - 4 first period deficit.  The Turks surged back in the second half winning both periods, tying the score late in the fourth before a final Wildcat surge of a 3 point shot and free throws took the game.  The Turks VandenEkart brothers combined for 33 points in the Conference matchup.

Sultan #43

Sultan Turk Senior, 5'11" Theo VandenEkart jams through for 2 of his game high 18 points in the Turks Varsity win over rival Granite Falls 57 - 40 on Friday night, January 21, 2011 in Sultan,WA.  The Turks showed strong passing and a tough defense to lead 25 - 18 at the half.  Sultan dominated the 3rd period 13 - 6 in the Conference victory.

Mat Men

The home mat Turks were slammed by the Cedarcrest Redwolves 45 - 27 at the Conference, Senior Night match on Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Sultan,WA.  A bright spot, below,  was the 140 pound class with Junior Kyle Weaver scoring a win by decision over Austin Koons, 2 - 1.  Other Turk victories included Brittany Tabor, DJ McKenzie, pin, Taylor Comfort and Alex Dickinson.

Senior powerhouse Steven Leverette is out for the rest of the season and the Washington State Mat Classic in February.  Leverette said,"I was hurt playing baseball, my therapist says I through with wrestling but I'm getting a second opinion".

High School Boys Basketball, Turks vs Redwolves.

Turk Sophomore, 6'2" Brock VandenEkart crashes through for 2 of his game high 26 points in early going of the Turks loss to Cedarcrest 79 - 65, Friday, January 14, 2011 at Sultan,WA.  The Turks owned the first period with quick passing and machine guided 3 point scoring to take a 40 -37 point lead at the half.  The Redwolves dominated the third period stunning the Turks 25 - 9 and never looked back.  Brother Theo VandenEkart added 16 and Senior Sam Hatton scored 17 for the Turks.  The Turks stand 1 - 5 in League and 4 - 6 overall.

The Sky Valley Classic Wrestling Tournament

Sultan Turk Senior Steven Leverett wins his 130 pound match with a rare 20 - 2 Technical Fall over Kerry Brooks of Darrington in the annual Sky Valley Classic Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, January 8, 2010 in Sultan.  The host Turks finished 3rd in the mat classic with 169.5 points.  The popular event was won by Mount Baker with 245 points.
