...the joy of WiFi...

I have been wireless on my Powerbook for sometime now, but am learning all the time. One the the joys of wireless that I had heard about and looked forward to was the freedom of communication, anywhere anytime.....so I am at my local Snohomish County Library, in Monroe trying to figure out why I can't send eMail......well then I learned about SMTP servers and authentication. This brought an abrupt halt to anywhere anytime! [Insert aside here] Well that was a shock....in order to use all of the editing tools of Blogger I have to use Firefox, as Blogger does not yet fully support Safari![end aside] Ok, where was I ?, oh, SMTP servers....I was searching one day for cool software for my Powerbook , just to see what other folks are using, and I came across this killer hack. This article tells how to use the OS X BUILT IN MAIL SERVER to make your own SMTP server!! This is apperantly standard equipment on UNIX, which OS X is of course, but who knew? I carefully followed the directions and it works like a charm! Thanks David.
